Speech Synthesizers

hey there, I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any free and good speech synthesizers?

I'm making this animated film, and I can't afford to pay voice actors, so I was thinking of synthesizing my own voice.

I've never worked with this one so I can't tell you what to expect.
Most the speech synthesizers I've heard have been flat monotones but I know there are better ones out there. I just don't know if they're free.
