I've networked two computers in my room so that they both have the internet. I used a simple network cord instead of a hub. The only problem is that the connection doesn't always seem to stay stable. Every once and a while it will disconnect and stay disconnected until I restart the second computer.

I have computer#2 hooked up with computer#1, than computer#1 hooked into the network connection. computer#1 is using the a7n8x deluxe mobo w/ two lan connectors. this computer never has a problem with the internet, it's only computer#2.

any suggestions? (sorry if i made this complicated)

If you have broadband, the most common answer you'll get is spend about $40-$50 on a broadband router.

I assume these PC's are static?

With intermittant connectivity I ALWAYS look at the cabling and connectors first.

- I'm connected to a T1 Lan network with my university.
- I'm a university student and I don't have much money, therefore I'm trying not to buy a router.
- What does it mean "the PC's are static?"
- I checked the cabling and connectors at the back of both machines, everything is okay.

Any other suggestions? Please!

Since you have a T1 connection then more than likely the IPs are not static. Static means that the IP address is configured into the wkstn, whereas the other option would be dynamic, which means that your IP changes every so often.
