I was looking for a comparison between the ABiT NF7-S rev. 2.0 and the KV7. Basically I'm just looking to get a 400mhz FSB AMD-based mobo...my current mobo is an ABiT KR7A and it's the best motherboard I've ever owned, so i'm partial to the brand.

Any input would be much appreciated.

I have been running a ABIT KT7A RAID for the past two years. When i got it the top AMD speed was 1G processor, and since I have flashed the BIOS about 4 times and now running 1.4 AMD athelon chip with 1G of memory..
If it were me.. I would go with an ABIT RAID MB and you can check them all out at ABIT web site... You may even have BIOS flash updates for your exsisting MB... and updated drivers.. My RAID 0 is wonderful and has doubled my 1.4 AMD, and I wont consider buying another mb until someone comes up with at least a 3 Gig AMD RAID board. My ABIT will handle up to 8 ATA 133 drives in RAID configuration and i would never consider going back to a regula IDE system.

forgot to mention mine is actually a KR7A-133RAID board but I'm not really even using the RAID....I have a server for that...I just love how stable ABiT boards are, doesn't matter if I'm overclocking or not, the thing is rock solid. softmenuII and all the RAM/bus/etc performance options in the bios are nice too. No other board manufacturer I've seen puts this much versatility in the bios. It's flashed to the most recent update as well. I'll probably end up going w/ the NF7-S since the nForce2 chipset is much more tried and true than the KV7's KT600.

EScher.. I totally agree.... I have built many systems with many MB mfg.. I love the ABIT, no BS Botherboards... and they have the best support... I have heard a lot of crap from other MB queens and pentium this and that.. but ABIT corp comes on top from a mechanics point of view
