I recently got a Aspire (Turbo Case) X-Dreamer case and it has a temp probe for the case. I belive my mobo has a temp sensor for the cpu, so where would the best place to mount the cases temp probe inside the chasis?

You can basically put it anywhere you want to...you can use it to monitor the video card temps, RAM temps, hard drive temps, etc...it's really up to you. What temp would you be most concerned with?

put it under your cpu heatsink so you know if your cpu over heats

Ok, its long enough to mount anywhere on or around the mobo, the vid card or near the PS. I just figured Id ask where most ppl put a case probe.
Thanks guys.

After noticing that you have your CPU temps already monitored, how about putting the temp sensor by a component you'd like to monitor for heat (e.g. the Video card).

And you should never put a probe between the CPU and heatsink, if it's a AMD Athlon or Duron, you could crack the die and kill your CPU.

Yeah my board definetly senses cpu temp. But Tonight the FedEx man paid me a little visit and I finally got my cpu, so I put together my new rig. I mounted the temp probe between two fins of the heatsink and made sure that there is no way for it to vibrate out and get caught in the heatsink fan. If anyone who reads this feels this may be a bad idea please let me know. It will be a couple weeks till I get the memory & hd, after that ill be done except for sleeving cables and adding lights and a video card.
