I am connected to the net with a DSl moden, attached to the computer with the wirless base station....
When I look on my task bar I have my local workgroup icon which shows the status being connected to the net.....and then I have another icon for a local area connection...The other computer with the usb adapter only has a network icon.
Is this right??
If you can't tell I am really new at this network thing, so please be patient with me....
Sounds right to me. Is there a problem or is everything working correctly?

I am having a problem with the shared printer...The machine I run has XP on it and is attached to the wirless base station. the other machine is running ME and has a USB wirless station....When I go to print on my XP machine it is really slow to bring up the print box and then when I hit print it freezes, every program I have goes to not responding.....I spent 2 HRS on the phone with MS wireless support yesterday....they can't figure it out....I'm out of ideas.....

When you hover over the wireless network icon, what does your signal strength report?

I have very good signal strength, Today I completly removed the network software from both computers and reset the base station to the factory settings. After re-installing everything, it worked fine...Not a clue what caused the problem.
I've had all kinds of hassles with wireless in mixed XP and other versions of Windows networks. XP simply wants to hog the whole show and the XP zero configuration utility can be a real pain, as can ME's networking setup. USB networking is also a pain, I always use PCI or PCMCIA whenever possible.
