I have a 80Gb hard drive, I split it up and put Red Hat 9.0 and Windows Xp on it. I had some problems with my internet not working on Xp so I reformatted and reinstalled XP. Well now when the computer starts up, the Grub bootloader doesnt come up. Will I have to reinstall Red Hat because it was on before XP? Thanks.

Hi,
Sounds to me like when you reinstalled Windows XP it wrote over the MBR (Master Boot Record) where grub was residing on. Reinstalling would be one option, but I'm sure there are easier ways. Unfortunately I'm not all that familiar with installing and configuring bootloader, so hopefully someone else can help you out. HTH

I have had same problem but with win98.........using SuSE 8.1 and Mandrake 9.1.............what I did was boot with CD 1 and choose option "boot installed system".....and then go to respective control panel , fix it from there..............
good luck!
