I wasnt real sure where to post but this is good a place as any, wish toast were still around for this one, but it's not that big a deal. I have a camera that I want to use as a security cam/web cam on my computer. It hooks up and works fine and all, but heres the deal. For the camera to zoom in and out, and also for it to focus in and out. There are 3 wires from the camera. I used a 9 volt battery on 2 of the wires it would zoom out, turn the battery around and it would zoom in. Same deal with the focus. I got toggle switch's for days. Can I use something like a on-off-on 2 pole toggle swith to work the camera, maybe with 1 or 2 more other switch's? I'm pretty sure it's possible, what I need though is some pictures for my dumb a** on just how to wire it. Can someone please help me out, or point me in the right direction.

Okay, lets label the wires 1, 2 and 3.

When 1 and 2 are + and - respectively it zooms out. When 1 and 2 are - and + it zooms in.

When 2 and 3 are - and + it focuses out. When 2 and 3 are + and - it focuses in.

Connect wire 2 to the common pin of a on-off-on single pole swtich, and connect to + and - battery terminals to the other two pins on the switch/ When you flip it so that 2 is connected to the - end of a battery it is in the "in" mode, ie zoom in and focus in. Flip it to connect to the + terminal and its in "out" mode.

Then similarly connect pins 1 and 3 to the common pins of on-off-on switches and connect them to both battery teriminals.

This pictures shows what I was talking about.

By selecting the polarity of pin 2, you choose whether you are zoomin or focusing in or out. By flipping the switch on pin 1 or 3 to the opposite polariy of pin 2, you make it actually zoom in or out.
