DVD not playing

Hi
3 months ago my kid watched a movie on my DVD player(notebook computer)
I do not know the name. Anyway the folder was named Video_TS (folder on the DVD itself)

T=oday I tryed to watch another movie and it did not play automatically.
I tryed to open DVD and imagine, the DVD folder said the name Video_TS(the same name what is on other DVD

I put another DVD and still says VIDEO_TS

If I open the VIDEO_TS folder I am able to play each video individually but not the complete DVD at once

video_ts is the standard on all dvd's as well as audio_ts. what software are you trying to use? i have had hit or miss luck with wmp9 so i always try to use a dvd-playing software?

I am using Win DVD what came with the DVD itself

did you try just opening windvd and clicking play rather than going through explorer?

Yes
and it says some audio error(but not always)
and sometimes does say nothing

do you have wmp9. it would be worth it to at least try to open it in wmp9 and see if that will work.

I tried wmp9 and it says it can not play because of copyright problems or something like that???????

I mean , I do not want to copy the DVD , I just want to watch the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's time to have a talk with the kid as to just what he watched.
Some DVDs are problem causers, or, it's possible, that your kid watched an indie movie of some sort that started your problems.
We'd have a better shot at getting you out of this if we knew what happened.
How about a little more background ?
You haven't given us much to go on and, I very much doubt, format and reinstall is what you want to hear.

The kid(my kid) which is 5 years old, watched movie (Toys store or whatever is the name)
I personally put the DVD into the drive
I do not know what do you think with " an indie" movie (please explain)
yeah, sure, format and reinstall is the easiest answer, but not the easiest way to fix the problem

What I described until now is all data that I can give to you
it just says copyright poblems

Unintstall WinDVD, delete its folder from your program folder. Remove if from your registry.

Then reinstall WinDVD.

The movie is "Toy Story" and it causes problems.
tyoung beat me to it but his answer is one that fixes that problem.
"Indie" is becoming code for any good movie that is not a Hollywood blockbuster.
