Okay, here is the situation....

I have a 120 GB drive, which was partitioned into a 10 GB C drive and the rest was D drive. I wanted to format the whole thing, and eliminate the partition at the same time. So using XP I went and deleted the D partition, leaving me only with C. Now when I go to format C, it gives me a maximum size of 10 GB. How do I change this so I can use my whole 120 gig drive?

Thanks for the help.

I would do a low level format. This will start you you with a clean hard drive.

How do I do a low level format? A clean hard drive is exactly what I want.

If your HDD came with a utility disk it will be on there. If not, go to the HDD manufactures wesite and download it.
I use this program.

Okay, I'm trying to use the Killdisk program, but I have a couple of questions? Will this erase the partitions themselves, or only the data on the partitions? How long does it take? I started this on my partition about 5 minutes ago, and the progress bar is still at 0%.

It will erase all data and partitions on the HDD. The last drive I used it on was a 40GB. I think it took a couple of hours.

It would be a lot easier to boot with the XP CD, and the setup will allow you to delete the existing partitions and start fresh. No need to zero fill.
