I recently ordered a sound activated cathode light from ebuyer.com. No experience of case modding outside lighted fans/PSUs, but having built PCs before, I figured I'd work out what to do. The product can be seen here:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=44633

When I opened my package I had a set of 5 tubes, each with a 3-pin plug. No instructions or anything, just a set of 5 tubes. Having tried fitting one of the plugs onto the board (only went onto a fan port), I tested it and got nothing. Having read the reviews, people talk about 4-pin sockets, power inverters supplied, and a sound reactor module... have I been sent the wrong product? I have 5 tubes, and these inverters and modules (one review mentioned settings on it, switches etc) nowhere to be seen...

Have buyer messed up on me? Or is there something I don't know?

Thanks

Hmm 5 tubes? did you order 5 of them or did it come with 5? should come with one cathode and an inverter, the cathide simply plugs into the inverter via the 3 pin plug, then the inveter plugs into a 4 pin molex connector via a 2 pin plug that goes to a 4 pin molex conntector, then you adjust the sound module to how much sensitivity you want it to be and your done.

Sounds like they sent you the wrong thing. Should be one cathode tupe and a sorta small black box with switch on it and some wires.

Thanks all, going to return them. Yes it was 5 tubes for each cathode, thought that was odd :S
