best-buy does not require any certs at all to work in there service dept.
comp-usa on the other hand has the requirement and also for the network+ class too.

I was just ofored a job at comp-usa when I get the network+

The job market is not strong anywhere for anything. It's extremely tight and competitive. You will have to be willing to work for minimum wage.

You want fries with that?

the overall job market is slowly turning around, but the high tech market is going to be tough for a while for a few reasons:

1) the applicant pool is deep, with all the high techers laid off over the last few years, the average knowledge level in that pool is very high so prsceptive employers have a rich field to pull from.

2) Outsorucing of knowledge has gotten big, with a lot of tech support going overseas.
