I just set up Samba on my Red Hat 9 system to print on my home LAN. But now I get an error in the print dialog box; "unable to connect to SAMBA host, will rery in 60 seconds." From this it seems as thought I need to download SAMBA for the computer that the printer is connected to. Is this true? And if so, I just download it from samba.org, right?
Thanks

Could you please give me a link to the page where I can download the SAMBA client for my windows machine? I spent a while looking through samba.org, but all the downloads looked like thety were for linux, becasue they were all tarballs. And just so you know, the machine that is connected to the printer is a Windows XP machine.

No need for Samba for the windows machine, you are getting an authentication error is all. Try this.
Set up an account on the windows box called "printer" no password.
Print to:
smb://printer(being the account name you set up)@WORKGROUPNAME/SERVERNAME/PRINTERNAME
Windows will not authenticate an SMB request on a proteced account, at least in my experience, but a plain user account with no password seems to work.
Hope this helps
