Hello!
Im starting a PC Repair business and im compiling some software that I will need in the field. This is what i have so far.
MS Service packs 95-xp
MS Blaster Patchs
Common DLL files
Winzip
Boot Files for 95-xp
adobe acrobat
symantic Anti virus
registry cleaning software
disk compression software
video codecs
Java Runtimes
Direct x
adaware
Can anyone suggest any others that I could need?
Stinger (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/), a stand alone anti-virus that will get rid of all the most commonly contracted viruses for use on the virus-infected system on which the resident av program was hosed.
LSPFix (http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm) to repair spyware-damaged winsocks so you can get it back online to download updates for Spybot (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=SPYBOT&tg=dl-2001&search=+Go%21+) and/or AdAware (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=adaware&tg=dl-2001&search=+Go%21+). Easiest to have both on your CD so you won't have to wait for for those sloooow dialup connections to download the entire program.
Hijack This! and CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php?cat=sp#det). The first to pinpoint startups that elude your other spyware untilities and the second to get rid of CoolWebSearch which nothing else can effective eliminate.
My most valuable tool is a laptop with a modem, nic, floppy drive, and an external CD burner - no matter what you have preloaded on CD's, you will find you need something else!
