Hello,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but please help if possible. I'm trying to make a video for a friend, and i need to send it through email. So, i need the video to be on the pc, how do i got about doing this?

I have a Geforce4 MX 440 with s-video out. I have a VHS recording of my video, and also i have a "Sharp viewcam" ...

So, how can i transfer my video from VHS, or Camcorder to my pc...?

Thanks

First of all, you need to get a capture card and a capture software. Then you connect your VCR or Camera to the capture card and sound card (video signal to capture card and audio signal to soundcard line in).

Hmm...when you say you have the sharp view cam, do you mean you have the original recording of your movie on a tape in the camcorder, or do you just have the camcorder for some reason?

RJ is right, you need a capture card, or a video card which has video in. You can buy a cheap one at best buy---get one by ATI.

Is your view camcorder analog or is it digital? If it is digital then you can transfer it using firewire (aka dv). This would transfer both audio and video. If your camera is analog, then you're going to need one of the cords which you use to plug your VCR to a t.v. The one with the two prongs on each end. (One is usually yellow and the other is usually red).

You'll also need a program to edit yur movie in. Something like Adobe Premiere is good, but very expensive. If you have Windows XP then you can use their movie editor, but it's very basic, though it will work.

If the video is any larger than 10 megabytes, don't even try sending it by e-mail, it will probably be rejected by either your outgoing server or their incoming server. Use another method for transfer such as direct IM or FTP.
