I am looking for some tutorials for Vegas 4.0 video editing software.
I'm a real n00b when it comes to this, and hate to spend hours trying to figure it out.
All I really want it some good how to's for basic editing.
Like, "pasting" two clips together, maybe some transitions, things like that, nothing too complicated.
thx

I think I've got one and some sample projects for Vegas 4. They came with a demo CD we recieved. Since we just upgraded to a full Avid suite, we really have no use for them.
Of course it's no gurantee the discs didn't get pitched. But if we have them, we don't need them.
One problem - how to get them to you. I could have my partner transfer them via FTP (I'm not that computer literate yet) if you've got someplace he can upload them.
Dave.

I just got off the phone with my partner and he's pretty sure he pitched the CDs that we got from Sony. But he suggested this site: http://www.creativecow.net/index.php

Just a hint, there is no pasting clips together. With the higher end apps like Avid, Vegas, Final Cut etc.. you keep the media intact and add media in/out points to the time line, these are links to the original media. This keeps file sizes down as you are not copying media all over the place.
Import a bit of DV to the media bin. Scrub through it a bit and pick an in point, scrub a bit more pick an out point and drag it to the timeline. You'll find it's actually pretty easy after you find the mark in / mark out commands. Usk JKL on the keyboard to scrub through the media. Start with those things and the rest will come naturally.
