I have just taken on a new client, they have an old dell PC, that is running windows NT Workstation, they have a policy editor on it and its locked down so nothing can be changed on it. No one has the admin passwords so nothing can be installed or changed. Is there anyway to get round this? As they have a virus on their PC and I cant even install anti virus software or get into the regedit to see what is in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run".

Hope someone can help

Thanks

Simon

There are hacking tools out there to null the admin password so you can get in (and the forum rules prohibit discussing this), but as a professional I will not do that for a customer unless I get authorization from the president of the company in writing.

Bottom line - only 2 options - what I just mentioned, or wipe and reinstall.
