Ive seen it spelled both ways and I just want to make sure which one is correct. :)

I believe the correct spelling is Thorton (Thoroughbred + Barton I guess)

When I bought one it said Thornton but in many reviews and I think even on the AMD site they call it Thornton :/ im confused.

Nvm then I read it somewhere else im sorry for the confusion. But I know that when I bought it it said Thorton (i can post a pic if u want) and when I searched for it on google it showed some results under thornton.

I remember reading an article that *rumored" the Thor/nton is to be the Duron's replacement....

Ive seen it called Thorton more than anything so ill stick with that I guess. I heard of the Thorton being a Barton with half the cache disabled.

Well I'm sticking with Thorton anyway its just confusing now that Ive seen both. Maybe im just going crazy :p

easiest way to find out... take the hs off and look at steppings.
The steppings aren't going to answer the spelling question.

well, on the core it will be written how thorton is written and steppings will maybe show it's a barton... that failed the test... with some luck

I've never seen a chip that shows the spelling of Thunderbird or T-Bred... why would a Thorton be spelled out? I think the real mystery is why there's nothing at AMD's site about it...
That's what I thought - all I've ever seen is Duron or Athlon written on the chip along with the steppings and stuff.
