Full screen WMP on second monitor

Sometimes when I view a video in windows media player fullscreen on my second monitor, if I click on something in my first monitor the video will restore to whatever state it was in before going fullscreen. This happens for videos of different formats. If I open and close it enough times I can usually get it to work properly, so it will stay fullscreen. I'm using a Sapphire with Radeon 7500 chip, with the latest ATI drivers. I've also tried WinDVD, realplayer, and bsplayer, but none of them will display the video in the second monitor, although it works fine in the first. It will display in quicktime on the second monitor, but it uses too many resources, and doesn't seem to even have a fullscreen mode.

Any ideas?
