Hello Forum

I have very little experience with anything other than Windows(I appologize to those offended). I work with an emulated Unix software running over Windows and I was wondering if there is a software to convert a document in the Unix app (of currently unknown format) to perhaps a .pdf or Word doc?\

Greatful

Mosfet- what is the Unix emulation software your using?

I too think openoffice will be a good program for you.

BTW, by MOSFET are you refering to the chips found in modern amplifiers?

Thnx for reply C Sanders,

I am using OMD wich is just a inventory application.
I checked out OpenOffice and I think it is what I'm looking for.
The price is right :)

MOSFET= Metal Oxide Semi-Conductor Fiel Effect Transistor
wich are used in everything electronic (those or BJT's).
They are used for amplification amongst other things.
A well known example is your CMOS (complimentary MOS) chip in your pute where the FETs store your config info by holding a high or low state.

Thnx again guys and thnx for the Welcome.

Question about openoffice- the only page I can get to on the openoffice site has a login-screen, I don't know that I have registered with openoffice, and I see no option to register with openoffice- nor do I see any way to browse the site otherwise.

I installed it to a computer on my home network here that doesn't have a shared Internet connection so I don't know Colonel but I can't see the benefit in regestering it. They will sell your information and you'll see an increase in spam. :) =P

The OpenOffice.org site is still undergoing upgrade. Complete stability will be reached in a few hours

this site is navigatable........

A little off topic. MOSFET, you may want to consider changing your name in linux circles. There's a relatively famous guy named "Mosfet" that creates themes for the kde desktop. Mosfet's Liquid theme is well known to linux users and provides menu transparency and other cool effects. The guy is also known to be a little tempermental but does excellent work.

Thnx for the heads-up kilgore.....but you probably won't see me in this circle very much. Not for the time-being anyhow.
Besides, I don't confuse you with the real Kilgore when I read The Breakfast of Champions :)
