If you change the size of the resoultion of the desktop (e.g. from 800x600 to 1024x768) the wallpaper will look pixelized; try choosing a different wallpaper, applying, and then choosing the original wall paper you wanted, apply it, and then see if it looks better...

if you have a lower resolution pic on a high resolution desktop and strech to fit, it may have a tendency to pix on you.

Do you have the wallpaper set on the resoulution set to what you want to be? (e.g. 1024x768). Try Applying a different wallpaper, with the stretch option, and apply it. Then apply the one you want; it should look normal. If this is a downloaded walllpaper your trying, try getting it for a different resoulution....

Is the right video drivers installed? Do you have the correct screen size/resoulution set?

Try selecting Centered and see if it's pixelated.

When I center any wallpaper, it looks fine. Only when its stretched is when it looks pixelized.
The proper drivers are installed. Also, how do I know what the "correct screen size/resolution" is? I typically use the 1000 X 700 (dont remember exact size, but 1 size up from 800x640)
Any time you stretch wallpaper, it can look pixelized. If you are using 1024x768, start with a native 1024x768 image and it should be fine.

I am sure this problem is what glc stated. It has happened to me all the time. Sometimes, I just set the pic as centered if the pixelization really annoys me.
Another thing to do is to use wallpaper images larger than the actual resolution. I am currently doing dat. I download 1280x960 images and when I "stretch" it in my desktop they don't appear pixelated, since my current desktop is smaller (1152x864).
Note that if you increase the size of the image in a picture editing program the problem persists.

ok, I set the Trinity pic as my background and IT WORKED...
...but all my other pics are still pixelized. I still dont understand how this is happening when my other systems display the same pics at the same resolution fine?
