How and why???

I was looking at my own info and a month ago it said I had 0 referals but now it says that I have one. Can any of the moderators please tell me why I received one if they can remember and also how is a referal bad? If I get enough do I get banned or how does this work out?

referals arent bad . when new members join they put the person who guided them here as a referal. :D

Hi Imbest, I'm sure someone will explain it in more depth for you, but a referral isn't 'bad'. It's when someone joins and says you referred them. You can read about it in the FAQ's

I thought they were bad because in my school a blue slip for a 5 hour detention is called a referal. It was a bit of a mix up. Thank you.

Ya i go to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA and they are really strict there. Sometimes I wish I could have applied to some other high school. I like the people there though. I understand what referal is now, I just thought it was bad before. I get the point now. Thank you to everyone. :)
