Undergradute Degree

I am interested in network/computer security. What undergradute degree and career path would best suite my career goal?

Most network/pc technicians in my area are high school drop outs (come to think of it...I don't know anyone with a HS diploma...but I only know 6 techies). They just went for a GED, and got their certifications. They just learned by 1st hand experience.

I'm working on an undergraduate in Information technology management. I'm getting it thru online courses with APUS. They work with the military really well, but are also open to th epublic. They are a credited university, and I have a friend that was getting an undergrade in religous studies and hes getting a job as a senior minister right off the bat as soon as he graduates.

I would say check out your community colleges and find one that has a course schedule that you like. There are many titles for mostly the same thing. Look for Network Security Analyst / specialist, network specialist, or something similar to that.

One word of advice, and trust me completely on this. DO NOT GO TO ITT TECHNICAL INSTITUTE!!!!! I wasted 2 years, a LOT of money (I'm still $19k in debt, and I've already paid $8k. :() The degree is only good in their system, so if you graduate with an associates, you have to go back to them for a bachelor's degree. I will be starting over as a freshman in the U of Wisconsin system next year. Blech... (not to UW, but to starting over)
