Performance
Stability is a very important aspect of a motherboard, and the SL-75FRN2 delivers. I have not come across any problem or compatibility issue with other hardware. Although the motherboard is stable, it is recommended to use quality hardware for the best results. For me, I have put together the following:
¡Ü AMD Athlon XP 1700+
¡Ü Sapphire 9500 non-pro
¡Ü (x2) 256MB Kingston PC2700
Overclocking
If you're on a budget and you are planning to overclock, then this motherboard is for you. The SL-75FRN2 has received many successful and great reviews about its capabilities in overclocking. I too have experience with this board. As you would in most motherboards, you access the BIOS by pressing "Delete". In the BIOS you are given the option in what "MODE" you want to be in. In order for you to Overclock you must select "expert" and change the FSB and the CPU Mult. With my 1700+ 1.47ghz processor i was able to up my FSB to 160mhz and a mult of 13 to get a 2.09ghz result. It has been stable ever since the April of 2003, and hopefully be able to upgrade on ram and better cooling, for I am currently using STOCK HSF.
Value
In terms of value, there is no comparison at under $100 USD, this motherboard has provided me everything I need and more.
Conclusion
The SL-75FRN2 provides Stability, Options for upgrade, Great overclocking abilities, Great value, and even the motherboard has a very attractive gold paint to it.
Score:
10/10
