That's funny, thanks for the laugh. I don't mean to make you feel bad sorry but no,it won't break. I've burned probably upwards of 10 cd's in one day and nothing bad has happened. The CDR-W is meant to burn cd's so burning more per/day will not decrease it's life span. I still have my CDR-W from over 4yrs ago, its slow, but works fine. Burn as much as you like.

Seems like I've read that the laser in burners are rated for XXXX amount of hours of usage. I'm guessing it's not very acurate, but it does imply that the more you use it - the less life it has left in it. Still, if you've gotten that much use out of it, then it was probably worth the $ spent.

Even if that is true, it doesn't matter if you burn 3 cd's in one day or in 7 days, you still only burned 3 cd's. I wouldn't even worry about it. I don't know of any drives that have just broken b/c they have been used too much. Good Luck and happy burning.

I got over 4 years on one of mine so far, lost count of how many bundles of 100 blanks I burned with it and still going strong

I burned out 2 different ones (HP and Acer/BenQ, stay away from them) in 2 years, each one lasted 1 year. Now I have an LG (32x10x40x) which I've had for over a year, and still works like a champ.
Unless you have a factory going there, the drive will be slow and obsolete before you burn it out.
