Which game should I get for my new system. I want a solid single player mode, that is fun, but also a good multi player game. Is it more fun in 1942 with the vehicles, also could someone explain how the vehicles work in multiplayer. Thanks!

the vehicles in BF1942 work just like the vehicles in single player (might experience more lag in vehicles tho)

BF1942 is the best multiplayer game i have ever played but the single player kinda *sucks*

but i haven't played CoD but i've read good reviews
it also depends if you are more into infantry based play (CoD) or if you like a wide variety of gameplay (BF1942)

Alright thanks. Can you explain the vehicles a little better, like are they FPS vehicles, how do you play with them?

in battlefield you can control a various vehicles each with pretty much the same basic controlls which you can change to your preference

default keys
Land:
get in the vehicle. accelerate is the walk forward key (W) brake and reverse (S) turn left right respectively (A) (D)
in tanks use the mouse to adjust the tilt and direction of the turret

Air:
throttle up (W) throttle down (S) rudder left/right (A/D) control the elevators and ailerons with arrown keys
primary weapon (space) secondary (0)

sea:
same as land except you control the cannons on battleships with the mouse (use the Prince of Wales- BIG guns)
some ships have depth charges and submarines have torpedoes control them witht he weapon controls same as Air

is this wut you asked for? or was it something else and what do you mean by FPS vehicles?

CoD much better singleplayer with better graphics.

Battlefield, much better multi without as much cheating as CoD.

You may wana think about that again..

BF1942 has tons of cheating.... you just dont notice it as much since in most of the server your staying busy trying not to get killed by your teamates.. so you dont even care about the enemy.

Most of your time is spent not getting killed by teammates? Sounds like a good game:rolleyes:. What game doesn't have cheating nowadays? Seems like they all do.

what do you meen about cheating?
also there are few people who teamkill and it is easy to kick people from the server with a vote

the view in the vehicles is at default to be FPS style (seeing from the drivers seat) this can be changed by pressing F9 and can change to a 3rd person view

Alright thanks for all of the info. Thanks fo rthe explination Newb, that's what I meant. I think I will buy BF:1942 unless I play the Call of Duty demo and really really like it. Is there a BF:1942 Demo? Thanks

BattleField has Mods for it :) like Desert Combat (Modernwarfare), Eve Of Destruction (Vietnam), some space mods incase you like that, pirate mods so you can play on priate ships..

lol they have every kind of mod.. interstate 1892 (racecar mod)

In the mods can you use vehicles, and my other question is...is battlefield 1942 just vehicles, or can you be a foot soldier or something? Thanks.

In Bf:1942 yes you can be a foot soldier... its like a fps your a soldier running around but you can get into vechiles.

And yes in Mods you can use vechiles also.. like they have their own vechiles.

like in EOD and DC they have Helicopters :) and Jets, Humvees,

its really a fun game.

WHat i think is.. Call Of Duty is fun for singleplayer and once you bet it that pretty much it.. Multiplayer is ok but not good.

BF:1942 Singleplayer is nothing great.. But Mulitplayer is hours of fun.. if you get board with the game

download a mod play that for a few weeks then when board download a new mod...plus you have have as many mods as you want installed at 1 time so you can switch back and forth.

To see what the game is like go to www.bf42.com

and goto the forums mabey just see what people are saying look at some screenshots read up about the mods..

you will learn the most there.

Hope all that helped you.

In Conlusion: BF:1942 is a better buy.. as it will keep you attention much longer.

In the multiplayer games are there like two vehicles for like 20 players, or are there 20 vehicles+ for 20 players?

The 1.6 patch for battlefield is supposed to have punkbuster on it. This could decrease the amount of cheating.

That could be a benefit.

on some maps there are many vehicles i personally get in one if i see it and normally just go for flags others like to stay where the tank spawns after its been destroyed and get it

really it depends on the map and the server.

most maps will have around 6(really small map) to 50 (huge map) vechiles.

when someone takes a plane for example and then they get shot down or crash, the plane will respawn after a minture or 2.

so you dont have to worry about running out of vechiles.

BUT! depending on the server you are in this can be a problem

people will sit and wait where the vechiles respawn. and people are not nice about it and line up and such they start team killling to get him the vechile and take off.

so sometimes you can have lots of fuin while in other servers you wont get 5 feet without being killed.. :(

Oh ok, thanks for the info.

to avoid that kindof teamkilling....use servers that kick teamkillers or join a clan and you can enjoy organized team play which is what battlefield is based around

I personally love CoD. The MP is awesome along with the SP mode.

Yep :) most of the Battlefield server will autokick and even ban in some cases people who Temkill 3-5people.

Cheating isn't bad in BF1942 because of the randomness of the weapons, mostly. An aimbot would be pointless, since the weapon you're firing arcs or spreads as you hold down the fire button (in the case of infantry weapons). The bot would never hit anything ;).

There are no-fog and radar hacks, but besides those nothing really detrimental to the game. And even those won't make much difference, since a newb with a radar is still less of a threat than an experienced player without one.

Hi all,

Could someone tell me a site where I could download some BF1942 trailers for FREE? I just spent the last 30min looking and came up mostly empty handed. TIA.
