I just got Deus Ex: Invisible War and am having problems with the graphics. I get this ugly jaggly looking image. Unfortunately the comp i'm using for the game isn't connected to the internet so i don't have a picture to share.
Within the Video options it says the 'multisampling' option gets rid of this, and should go up to 16x according to the graphic card. I can only go up to 6x with ATi Aiw 9800 Pro, with P4 2.4C, Asus P4C 800E Dx, and 1Gb of Kingston HyperX ram.
I then notice that the game is sponsored by NVidia. The way i see it, either something in my comp isn't working to it's full potential or this game was specifically made for NVidia products.
Does anyone have this problem. I'm beginning to feel that since Vavle started taking side with ATi all games are doing the same.

Don't know much about your problem, but you might try upgrading your drivers. Instead of ATI's 3.10 just released, try the modified ones from Omega.

I've always had problems unofficial drivers. They scare me. What is the diff between the Omega and the Ati's?
Thanks for your advice

Omega is the most popular driver out their for the gaming crowd. Check out his site and you'll see the testimonial/approval from ATI. His drivers add more flexibility for oc'ing and tweaking for gaming. I had problems with an ATI release a few months ago and that's what lead me to try the Omega drivers. He uses the basic ATI driver and modifies them for better performance. After I tried the Omega driver, my problems stopped. Been using them ever since and upgrade whenever new ones are released. Read his home page first and see what you think. He does more than ATI, too.

"should go up to 16x according to the graphic card"
I believe you're refering to the anistropic filtering, not antialiasing
multisampling is the same thing as antialiasing. Just b/c it only goes 6x multisampling max does not mean that's all the card can handle. Turn off multisampling and just use ati's smoothvision at max.
Also get the latest patch for Deus Ex 2. It adds the ability to completely turn off shadows and this gives major performance increases at higher resolution.
So turn off multisampling, turn up smoothvision, turn shadows to off, and bring up your resolution.
Let me know how it turns out.
(btw DX2 is direct3d game so make sure you're adjusting the right controls)

Heon, I can't find the smoothvision your refering to. Could it only be on the 9600? I looked all through the ATi control panel and did a search but turned up nothing...

are you sure? under smoothvision there should an anti-aliasing slider. Here's a screenshot of my control panel if you can't find it.
