i'm running xp pro on both systems all was working just fine then the other day it wouldn't find the internet...i'm running dailup through one computer and and eithernet to the other...when i hit repair con. in network places it says it can't be repaired and talk to the adm. and i'm the only user of both...i have tryed everything i can think of?....please help thanks

Are they they networked through a router/hub or through peer to peer?

a either net cable and they see each other i can share doc's just can't get to the internet from the other computer..thanks for the reply

Are you running any firewall protection? Double check your settings if you are. If you disable your firewall and internet works, then you know where you must look. I guess your doing ICS and can't even get on the internet with the first computer? Did you overwrite your ISP's IP settings or anything?

i get on fine with the host computer( i'm useing it now) my other computer can't get on through it and i have disabled my firewall and still nothing. it worked one day then it quit..but it will still share files...

Isn't there a internet wizard on XP somewhere that you can run to set up internet connection sharing? I'm not currently on XP right this minute to find the applet for you. I'll look when I get back on XP.

i have tryed to make new connections in the wizard with no luck i can trade files back and forth but no internet...when i hit repair connection in network tasks i get this....
