whats the difference between 2mb cache and 8 mb cache.
Why because local store has 80gb(2mb cache) drive for 70 bucks. Is that a good deal?

The cache on a hard drive is an area where frequently accessed info is stored for quick retrival. The bigger the cache, the more info can be accessed quickly. There's a noiceable performance increase when using an 8Mb cache unit.
Here's an 80Gb Western Digital with 8mb cache for $72, no freight, no tax. Price good thru tomorrow.
