after just building and setting up my computer, i decided to install my RAID 0 hard drive array. (I built the computer with a gigabyte ga-8knxp motherboard with gigaRAID intergrated into the board). so after deleting my hard drives and setting up the raid bios and system bios i moved on to installing the operating system (XP professional). i hit f6 when commanded, then the message telling me to enter the bootdisk for the raid software comes up, so i insert the floppy, then it asks me wether i want 2000/xp or nt and i select 2000/xp. after that it loads for a few seconds and comes up with this error message:
" File\Win2K_XP\iteraid.sys caused an unexpected error (18) at line 2108 in D:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c "

I used the boot driver from the software that came with the board, and i went to the manufacturers site and downloaded it. im not sure if im doing something wrong, or if there is something wrong with my hardware.

please help me get this thing working, any help would be greatly appreciated

You are loading the driver disk correctly. I went to their site and there are 3 different versions of your board. Make sure you are loading the correct driver for your version. You have problably already done this, however make sure the raid option is enabled in the bios. Some have a setting for ide or raid and you need to choose one or the other [or disable]

I am not a real fan of onboard raid since I have seen this problem before where onboard raid will not allow win2k setup or xp setup to load onto the raid array. After you install the os on one hd, then you can install the driver for the raid ports. For this reason I use a highpoint or promise card for raid.
