Hi you don’t need to pay anything to play battle field 1942 online its free just click on multiplayer then click internet and choose a server to join. To play online now I think you need to download the latest version which is 1.5. Also I don’t know if you know this or not but there is a complete other game called desert combat that is a add on for battle field 1942 take a look at it here http://www.desertcombat.com in my opinion this is much better online then the original bf1942

1) buy the game
2) http://www.battlefield1942.com and get the 1.5 patch
3) go to multiplay, internet. Find a server, double click.
4) There is no 4, that's it.

Thanks Guys!!
I had no idea it would be so simple, but I do have to download the patch. That is going to take about 8 hours. I have dial up internet.

Yes, It dose suck, But I can play online. There is lots of lag but sometimes its not to bad. Its a blast I get killed alot!!!! I connect at 49.2 Kbps. Pretty fast for dialup isn't it.

Yes, but you being in a server with broadband users ruins THEIR game also.

Yes, I have figured that out. I have been kicked off for high ping. Bummer I can't get anything other than dial up.
