Hey gang,

I'll be buying a new vid card soon. I havent been keeping up with the PC thing lately. Looks like there are a LOT of 9700, 9800 card choices. Any recs?

I need to spend less than 300 bones on the card.

Hows this one look?

Looks good to me... Keep in mind that the new line of cards are expected to come out in the Spring... The current cards may cheapen...

good choice indeed but as joeberg said the prices will drop so you might be able to get an XT for around 300 bucks ;)

I think I would hold off for a month or two, as the prices will start falling.

Are the new line of cards about these new .09 micron cards? I've heard they're going to be released in the spring, as earlier mentioned, and the .13 cards are going to go cheaper.
I hear that micron measures space, but more specifically in computer terms, the amount of material that can be condensed into a given amount of space. However, I'm wondering where you would be able to find news about this .09 micron graphic cards - I've searched on Google and got little help. I really want to know whether I can wait until Spring and find the cards cheaper, or what.

Thanks,
kram

There are 9700-9800 cards for $250 and less.
Any of then would do what you want.
Head over to newegg and mwave and check them out.

Thanks guys. I need to make a move quickly though, because my system is currently out of whack. I want to revamp it so to speak.

Michigan just lost the rose bowl (damn refs), but i must say I am in good spirits because of the card!

Thanks all

Don't blame the refs, sp. They got spanked by a better USC team that's all. Lloyd said it after the game "we couldn't protect our quarterback". I'm a loyal UofM fan, but don't take anything away from the Trojans. They looked like National Champs to me.
