I have a 5200 and it fills my needs, but I don't do much gaming. From what I read on this forum, the Radeon 9600 and 9800,XP or Pro, are the better gaming cards.
The FX 5200 is a lousy gaming card. It's meant to replace the GF4 MX series cards in the budget category.

Yes it is but it's not what you need.
Sell it, and go shopping.

Check this one out:
High Tech RADEON 9600SE Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "R8S-32-A"
would that be a good one?
No, the SE cards are the ATI version of the Nvidia MX cards. You get what you pay for. If you want to game, you gotta pay or turn the resolution and effects way down. Keep what you have till you can afford something in the $150 to $200 range or see if you can swap off both cards for a GF4 Ti4200.

$115 - SAPPHIRE RADEON 9600 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP
$149 - POWERCOLOR RADEON 9600PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "R96A-C3N"
$150 - ATI AIW RADEON 9000PRO Video Card, 64MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/CATV/VIVO, 4X AG
Which one, if any, will get the most bang for my bucks?

This is a great card for a great price, if you jump on it quickly....New egg refurbs are well tested and go quickly...

If I had to choose I'd probably pick the second option (the powercolor). HTH

The Powercolor 9600pro is the best one.

So then, the Powercolor will be a good card?

Yes it will be a good card and will run Half Life 2, I mention Half Life 2 because it will not come out for a while but is expecteed to be very video demanding, very well. It gives the best performance from all the cards you lised and is still a strong contender. It is probably the card I woukld recomend to people other than the 9600 XT.
