Hi,

you just need the following 2 programs:

DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/)
DVD Shrink (http://www.dvdshrink.org/)

With DVD Decrypter you can rip the DVD, means copy the entire DVD to the hard drive. When ripping a DVD, make sure you selected all files, as DVD decrypter will select only the main movie files by default.

Now, if the source DVD is a single layer DVD (max. 4,37 GB), you can now just use a burning program like Nero and burn your copy.

In any other case you have to shrink the DVD to max 4,37 GB to fit on a single layer DVD as there are currenly no burnable dual layer DVDs out. They'll come soon, but for now, you use DVD Shrink to either
1) throw out everything except the main movie (actually you can select what to throw out). . and hopefully the main movie will fit . if not you need to compress it further
2) Shrink the entire DVD down to 4,37 GB

Then you can use a burning program like Nero to burn the DVD.

Note: As far as I know DVD Decrypter can also burn DVDs, but I've never tried it.
