Virus Found...

This morning I woke up, boot up my PC, and loaded Windows just like I've done almost every day during this vacation. However, once in Windows (XP Home), I received a message that a virus had been found, so I ran AVG and then came here and saw Statica's link to Trend Micro and ran that as well.

It turns out that the virus I had was called 'Algobot', and I tried to find something on google, and looked at AVG and Norton's websites to try and find some info on it, only to come up empty.

I'm wondering if anybody has any more info on this virus, and if there is anything else I need to do to get rid of it, or repair any possible damage.

Is Algobot the name that AVG has it listed under test results?

Yes. It says "Virus identified Worm/Algobot" in the log, but when I first ran the scan, it came up as just Algobot.

I can't find anything on it...Is that the same name that Housecall is calling it?

Yes it is Redo.

It seems strange that there is no info, at first I was thinking that it may not be a virus, and it was just misidentified by AVG, but when Housecall said it was a virus as well, that makes me feel pretty confident that it is one.
