Heres another cool program called audacity I found not to long ago it's a sound recording program
works real well and it's the best freeware sound recorder I've ever used

I would have to say that GOLDWAVE (http://www.goldwave.com/) is the best sound recorder/editing program I have used.

sysinternals is an excellent site. I have one of their books on my shelf - Inside Windows 2000, I think.
Of course everybody here has been to GRC (http://www.grc.com/), but have you got Wizmo (http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm) ?

I like it for ejecting media with fewer clicks. And the "turn off, monitor, turn up volume" for when I walk away and leave instant messanger on.
Steve Gibson will never cease to amaze me.
