The first time I played it on this computer a couple of seconds after entering town all went blank so I rebooted but now as soon as I try to go through the hatch of the boat at the start everything freezes and I get the message "Windows has just recovered from a hardware failure, reboot to return to full functionability", or something like that, I reinstalled and it does the same thing.

Do you have problems with any thing else on your computer? Do other games run fine? Any problems/conflicts in device manager?

only does it in morrowind. I am trying to get the patch but theres something wrong with their servers. The main page doesnt load but the link you gave me does even though its very slow. When I click on the DL it sais its loading then for some reason on the status bar it sais its loading a site, after a couple minuts I get a timeout message. Ill try later.

Got the patch1.2.0722, installed it. I went in the game and i was holding my breath the whole time the outside world was loading and it worked. So I made my charachter, chose my class and sign. I talked to that warden guy and when I clicked on the door to go outside...ERROR, AGAIN!
EDIT: I reinstalled the game and the patch, this time I couldnt get past the hatch in the boat again. Also when I install the patch before its over it tells me "old file not found".

I had this problem too, if you look around on the internet you can find the answer, its an easy fix. All you need to do is run dxdiag and make sure that AGP Texture Acceleration is on, it is under display. You need to install or do some certain things if it is grayed out, post here again or look on the net if you cant figure it out. It fixed the problem right away for me, but I played morrowind on Xbox, didnt get to far on PC since I had played it all before on Xbox. Morrowind is a great game though, kinda like an MMORPG without all the annoying people, though at times i wished real people were in the game.
