I have a PIII 850mhz with an Asus cubx mobo. I'm new to overclocking and figured this would be a good test pilot (as I have an Asus a7n8 mobo with an Athalon XP 2500+) I wouyld like to know how to go about doing this? Any suggestions to start?

do a search on the forums for overclocking. there are plenty of threads on it. you could also read Overclocking: An Overview

Unless the cpu is an engineering sample with unlocked multiplier, you will only be able to oc it by fsb.

Also Check out this site about overclocking www.overclockers.com or www.overclocking.com
I would be willing to bet that you could get somewhere in the area of 1000-1200mhz

that's if you don't have an intel mobo, your mobo will decide how far you will go.

Wow, nice overclock.
Don't type in all caps, it's considered rude on line behavior.
