When I run either Ad-aware6 or SpyBot they find two registry keys- 7Fasst. I remove the keys and they come back after a reboot. I was wondering, does anyone know how to delete them for good? I did a google search and all I found was to use ad-aware or spybot to remove them.
Thanks

You have probably already seen this: Removal
There is an entry for 7FaSSt Search in Add/Remove Programs, which removes the main part of the software. To clean up, go to 'Downloaded Program Files' in the Windows folder and remove the entries for '{669695BC-A811-4A9D-8CDF-BA8C795F261E}' and 'FSInstall_1 Control'. (The latter is not actually an installer; it's just used by the installing web page to set an affiliate and unique user number before installing the software.)
You can also run 'regedit' and remove the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7Search' from the registry if you like.
Ad-Aware can also remove 7FaSSt, with reflist 038-16-08-2002 and later.
Try running Ad-aware in safe mode.

Yes. That is what I found doing the google search. There is no entry under add / remove programs for 7FaSSt. Both Ad-aware and spybot have latest update. It does not seem to hurt anything, it just makes me mad that I cannot get rid of it.

I even did a registry search for 7FaSSt and did not find anything.

Did you do a registry search for 7Search?

Searched both registry and computer for 7Search; nothing. I am just going to forget about it until I do a reformat and install. That should get rid of it.
Thanks

PestPatrol has an online virus/spyware scanner that will not remove the malware (unless you poney-up) but will give you the exact reg key to delete.

Thanks, even that came back negative. I ran a hijack this log and could not find anything either. This thing is pretty well cloaked. I am uploading a copy of the log to see if someone else can see anything; I sure cannot.
Thanks

Ok I have found out how it keeps coming back. It comes from ad-subtract pro 3.02, a popup blocker that I installed a few days ago.
I deleted the keys and restarted without adsubtract set to start with windows and NO KEYS. I started adsubtract and ran spybot right after and there they were again. I hope there is an update or a patch to fix this. It makes me mad since this is the pro version not the one you download for free.

Update; this is from an e-mail I received in regard to the problem. "Unfortunately this is a known issue with adsubtract 3. However it is not legitimate spyware, it is an error. We have fixed it in version 3.03 of adsubtract due out soon. We apoligize for the inconvience."
Well, at least I found out how it kept coming back.

I had the same problem finding 7FASST using SpyBot S&D which always came back on reboot. I also tried all of these suggestions but could not find an add/remove program for 7fasst or 7search or anything in the Registry for 7search or anything in downloaded program files.
However, this is what fixed the problem for me:
run regedit and:
1. do a registry backup first!!!
2. Find key 669695BC-A811-4A9D-8CDF-BA8C795F261C all occurences one by one in the registry and delete them. Use the F3 key to keep finding the next occurence and the delete key to delete them. Probably 10 or so entries to delete. make sure that when u do this u start at the top My Computer and click on EDIT>>FIND to start off
3. that's all!! haven't seen 7fasst in spybot since
tried everything below to no avail>>post if this works for you. Thanks!!:D
