Hey I have a Radeon 9000 and whenever I'm in an open area in Battlefield 1942 everything goes translucent (Being able to see through hills and stuff). It's like having a wall hack withouth actually having a wall hack. Does anyone know if there's a video setting or anything that will stop this?

Sounds like your Vid card is playing up..
Also have you got the V1.5 patch as it gets rid of alot of bugs?

My video card and my copy of Battlefield are both up to date when it comes to patches.

From a performance standpoint, yes, he needs another card. But the problem can be fixed with what he has. I can't really give any suggestion other than to try some BF help forums and you'll likely find answers to your exact same issue.

Okay, thanks anyways. I can't really replace my video card since it's built into a laptop but I'll check out some BF forums.

1024X 768 32 Bit (16 Bit now), I have lightmapping turned off now to which made it a bit better.

Anyways the problems stopped I just needed to lower the graphics settings.

As to what The Legend said, the Centrino may not be the best for games, sometimes, but it should still run a game like Battlefield.

Yeah, I may get a gaming computer in a year or so. Radeon 9000 works alright with Battlefield as long as the graphics are toned down but I'm kind of scared to see what Doom 3 will look like though

I've heard many complaints about BF1942 and the solution was always the vid card. I imagine that you've already turned your graphics and sound to the lowest performence. The game is also just a bit glitchy so it may not be your fault. Mine turns to negative colors and the rifle disapears from my charachters hand. PICKLEDCHICKEN!

Ive played battlefield need for speed loads of games and ive got a crap geforce 4 mx and it plays the games no problems.
I cannot understand why people have problems with there computer games ?
I played the same games on different systems with the same card and it plays them no problems.
It seems to me that these new high performece cards always has the problems.

I've heard somewhere that the Battlefield graphics have been programmed work better on Nvidia cards then on ATI cards. Has anyone else heard about this?
