It's not really unknown but Sanyo is what I am talking about. The only place I see their products is at Walmart. They don't have many products there either. They make very good quality devices. Sanyo TVs are consistently among the top rated in Consumer Reports and they have the best reliability record. I looked at the Sanyo website and discovered that they make many other products that I never new they made. Such as digital cameras, camcorder, and MP# players. I never hear about Sanyo anywhere. Why? I have two Sanyo TVs. One is from 1977 and the picture is still like new. The other is from 2001 and I love it. Do they sell things at any stores other than WalMart?

I purchased Sanyo VCR's at Circuit City a few years back. Sanyo also made some "decent" car stereo components. But, like you, the only place I see their products is Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart might have bought the company!

Sanyo's a good company. But they make very little in the consumer market that isn't at a low price point. That's why you tend to see most of thier stuff at places like WalMart. Their video projectors are top notch as are their A/V switchers and controllers. But most consumers don't really have any need for equipment like that.

The products may be low priced but they are still good quality. My TV has excellent picture quality and a remote that I can actually use without looking at unlike many remotes. I also have a Sanyo mini system and it has some excellent speakers on it. They sound amazing. I would have paid twice as much for the speakers alone than I paid for the whole system.
