sygate firewall 5.5 causing problems

the firewall's icon tray stopped appearing one day, and i was no longer able to display the GUI. Then, my computer is no longer able to recieve data, so I'm unable to connect to the internet through my cable modem. I uninstalled the program, but the problem is still there. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions on how to fix this? I've done a virus scan with avast and there aren't any present so I don't know what gives. All my networking settings are set correctly as well. please help!

What OS are you using?

Have you tried going to the Sygate web site to check to see if there are any FAQ's relating to your problem?

I upgraded to Sygate 5.5 a few days ago and my system seems to be running normal. But I'm on Win98SE and dialup.

I'm using XP home...ino one seems to have a problem similar to mine. it may have occurred because of a sysem crash.
