A lot of the time I save images from the web. Most of the time till today everytime I right mouse click on an image it would give me the choice of jpg, bmp, etc. but always defaulted to jpg. Now tonight it seems on any image I click on wants to be BMP. I can't seem to find a setting, chose default settings for IE, etc. Is this something I can change, or does it depend on the pic?

Try deleting all the temporary internet files and see if it helps.

That is almost always because your browser cache is full. Delete your Temporary Internet Files and that will fix it.

I will try when I get home. Thanks guys. Quick question though: you said full on the Temporary Internet files. I did not realize there is a limit on that.

Believe the size is of temp storage is adjustable. Go to Tools tab in IE/internet options/settings in the temp area.

Sometimes it is full. Other times I think it just suffers from corruption. Pictures, videos, mp3's are all stored there so it can fill up pretty fast.

It can happen sometimes. Just try refreshing the image and see what happens.

I already tried the basic troubleshooting like your suggestion for refreshing the page and it had no effect. But the simple idea of deleting temp files (it's so simple and I forget to do it everytime I have a problem with IE) fixed it again.

Thanks guys!

Why is it the simple answers we miss so easily? Probably because we are looking for a more complicated answer.

Here's just a suggestion for ya Iman74. Weekly I run my maintenance programs, ie: Adaware, Spybot, & Registry Healer. Then before I run the defrag, I run Disk Cleanup. That will delete the Temp files, Internet Temp files, Recycle Bin and other options. Part of Disk Cleanup is also the dump old Restore points. Follow up with a Defrag and you'll stay lean and mean all week long!

LOL
I used to do just that, and then after my kid was born and nightschool I just lost interest. But it's probably a good idea to get back into it again. Thanks for the suggestion.

I figured if temp files cause this many problems, why don't I have them deleted them all the time. So I loaded tweakui for XP and go figure, that option wasn't there. So I poked around and found it's on the Advance Tab for IE 6.0.

Go figure
