Total Reintsall of IE6?

IE has always caused me my share of headaches. I have fixed the countless problems individuly as they come by.

The latest is some problem with my passwords to websites not being saved and a strange certificate message.

What I want to know is. How do I totaly and completely remove internet explorer and it's periferals from my computer so I can install it again good as new?

Well I tried doing the method they recomened and It let me reinstall IE6, but it didn't really make it like new again which is what I want. I also tried the other method microfot sugest but for some reason when it asked for my CD it just keep giving me commands to insert the CD guess it didn't find what it wanted.

Something right now is wrong with cookies or certificates which is making it hard to log onto hotmail and use varrious passwords. I tried messing with all the security and certificate settings I could think of but nothing got results and I ended up makng a few things worse.

Is there anyway to just wipe IE6 totaly clean and fresh like new?

You dont say what operating system you have. Look in Add/Remove in the Control Panel and see if its in there.

There isn't a way to completely remove IE6... Its so integrated into windows that its not feasible, well maybe it can be done but you will end up with more problems then before. Your best bet is to reinstall it, download updates, scan for spyware...

Ok,so you should be able to remove it via Add/Remove but as I have never done it that way I would recomend saving you email address book and Favorites.

Actually my guess is that the problem isn't actually with IE 6 but with something that's "climbed aboard".....try a virus scan, and maybe reset your defaults in IE

Have you scanned for spyware? If not, download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=SPYBOT&tg=dl-2001&search=+Go%21+) and/or AdAware (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=adaware&tg=dl-2001&search=+Go%21+). Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found.

Then, to be doubly sure, download and run CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html) and run it (link to the download is near the bottom of the page).
