I use mozilla 1.6, but I only use it for browsing. I was wondering if it would be better for me to download firebird. Will firebird import all my bookmarks from mozilla?And all my settings-like uer name password for web sites.
Does it support tabbed browsing?
Is there any bugs in the program?
Thanks

This trick is for importing previous Firebird settings, but it may work for Mozilla settings, bookmarks, etc.:

From the Firebird Forum's FAQ
How do I keep my old settings while upgrading? (Backup profile)
A: Find your profile folder. Copy the following files, if they exist, and place them in a safe location:

* bookmarks.html
* user.js
* prefs.js
* cookies.txt
* cookperm.txt
* signons.txt
* key3.db

Now delete your profile. Let firebird create a new one for you. Find it, and copy over these files.

Yes, it supports tabbed browsing :D.

Not any that I have found.

Overall, I'm liking Firebird alot. The standard back, reload, etc. buttons are a bit smaller, allowing for more viewing space. And it has a built in google search field (not sure if the newest version of Mozilla does) which I love.

The only bug I've found so far is with the Bookmarks menu. When you go into it and try to edit the properties of one of your entries it doesn't load the sub-menus again afterwards without reloading the browser. For example, say under Bookmarks you have a sub-menu titled PC Sites and that expands to include entries such as PCMech. If you were to edit the name of PCMech in its properties box, then clicked OK, when you go back to Bookmarks, that menu would open but the sub-menu of PC Sites would not expand as it's supposed to and you have to reload Firebird to get it to work. Other than that minor problem, I love it. Love the tabs and the Google search field too!

A program that is much easier to use and has all the features of Mozila and Firebird is MyIE2. Favorites are picked up immediately. It has tabs, language translation and so on.Unlike Mozila you can use regular download managers like FlashGet, GetRight and NetPumper It's free from: http://www.myie2.com/.

It's ultimately your choice.

I'm using 0.7 right now and it's pretty good. But they are coming out with updates fairly often, so you may want to stick with Mozilla until 1.0.
