router to ?

Hello:

I Have some q's:

A?I was wondering if wireless hubs or switches are made?

I find lots of routers but other than that no go.

In my house there are basically 3 nodes of usage.

1)Living Room Computer=Wireless Router
2)My brother and Is room=Wireless Switch or equiv
3)My dads office=Wireless Switch of equiv

I know I could get cards and all I was curious if there was a way to set it up like that.

B?Would routers work together in that way?

C?What is adhoc (spelling) mode?

Note: I did find a router with two laptop PCMIA cards, a PCI wireless card, cable, and router for 110 bucks on newegg.


Please give me the a's,

You can get wireless bridges that will connect other locations wirelessly. If you need more than one connection there, a cheap switch will solve the problem.

Hello:

gunrunnerjohn, thanks for the info. I guess getting Nic's for each comp is cheaper. But this leads me to another question.

If I can get a 900mhz phone to work fairly decent is that a pretty good indicator that the 2.4ghz would work? I figured it would be the best way to test.

For my room it would almost make it but that little extra umph is needed.(staticy)

As for my dads office, it makes just inside his door.

I'm assumeing then with 2.4ghz it should work fine.

What do you think?

I think that every situation is unique, the best way to know is to actually test it. :)
