SATA Hard drives

If I buy a SATA hard drive on put it on an older computer that was around before SATA was out would it work? The pwoer supply I bought aboot 4 months ago came with a SATA connector so could I just use this and plug it in?

NO. The pc will need SATA cable like your ide cable or you will have to buy a SATA controller card.
