every time I look for a motherboard that supports the 8 X AGP
that this video card calls for they say use only 0.8 or 1.5 v video cards ? will this one work on these boards even though it says its only for 2v AGP slots?

I don't believe there is a 2volt AGP slot on ANY mobo.
They have AGP "revisions" such as 2.0, 3.0, PRO,
or they have 1.5volt, 3volt, etc..
There are overclockable mobo's that allow you to change the AGP voltage, so 2volts would be possible...
An 8x card could work on a board with a 2x slot (it would only run as fast as the 2x bandwith) but it would really be a waste.
Post mobo specs and someone can verify for ya..

1.5 volts is the power used by a 4X agp bus on the motherboard.
0.8 volts is the power used by a 8X agp bus on the motherboard.
The Nvidia 5200 is what's called a universal card, all the ones I've seen support a 1X-8X agp bus.
It would be difficult if not impossible to find a modern motherboard that does not support that card.
I think at some point you've confused volts and agp bus speed.
If you'll post your shopping lost before you buy any pcmech member who sees it will be happy to tell you anything else you need to know.

That picture of the video card isn't too clear.
You mean this one (?): http://shop.store.yahoo.com/a-c/gfbasgeffx12.html
They'll work just fine.
AGP 2.0 isn't voltage. It's telling you that the dedicated interface,AGP, between the card and the cpu will move data at speeds of up to 1 gigabyte per second .
2.0 is a speed standard not power voltage.

I tried googling the error from your screenshot but had no luck.
Look in Event Viewer and try googling that.
RPC terminated? That sounds like the Blaster worm to me.

Thats about how long it takes to kick in.
You are running Kazaa - God knows what critters you have running around in there. Time for a in depth virus, trojan, and spyware scan.

Download ad-aware, spyblaster, for spy ware software..You can also download for free a trial of trojan remover. Then you need to do a virus scan like glc suggested.

Yep the blaster worm will kill video cards. I went thru 2 video cards before I figured out that it was the blaster worm and patched it.

If you don't have an AV use this : http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/enterprise.htm
The last line in the box labeled Virus Alert is the free on line scan.
To avoid more trouble get a free AV frim grisoft and remember to keep it updated.

Go here : http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php and follow instructions.
In case you've got a virus which will prevent an AV program from installing you may be facing a reformat but try this first.
I'm guessing you don't have a firewall either so when you're done with this go over to ZoneAlarm or Sygate, your choice, and download a free version of that as well. In the meantime turn on the XP firewall.
