OK, I admit it....when it comes to networking, I'm a DUNCE!!!!
This is probably another dumb question, I just know I'm missing something easy, but I haven't been able to find the answer after about an hour of searching....
How does one use one computer on a home network to communicate with a user sitting in front of another computer on the same network without using the internet? Is there something built into Windows (all PCs here are on Win98SE) that's like one of the messenger programs (AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc.), yet which doesn't require the internet at all?
Hopefully I'll figure this out BEFORE anyone reads this if the question is hopelessly ignorant, :). If it's not, thanks for the help!
