I have a P4 computer with a HP Surestore tape drive. The computer is running Windows XP Professional. The tape drive is being used for data back up using Windows XP's Backup software.
My hard drive recently has a few bad sectors. I am concerned that it will get worse.
I backup the entire system drive, with data, into tape using the system backup feature in XP's Backup software. The total amount of files and data backed up into tape is about 2GB.
How do I restore the entire system drive into a new hard drive? Do I have to install Windows XP into the hard drive first and then choose Restore in the Windows XP Backup software?
