Right Mouse Key Won't Open In New Window

I've got an MS Intellipoint optical mouse and for the last two weeks when I am on the net and click on my right mouse key to Open In New Window, it won't work and just gives me a circle with an exclamation mark inside. All other functions of the right mouse key seem to work. Does anyone know what it might be? I think I'm going to try and delete the mouse driver and then reinstall it. But if anyone knows what it is and has a better idea then let me know.

I deleted the mouse driver and reinstalled it and still have the same problem. Weird.

Now it works because I had to take radical measures and resinstall windows over itself.
